Test Taking Tips
Read the question carefully. If it is an EXCEPT question or NOT question, circle the EXCEPT or NOT.
For the reading test and the multiple choice questions on writing, read the question before you read the passage.
Eliminate answers that you know are not right. If you can eliminate two of the four answers, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right even if you have to guess.
Read all of the choices before you answer. Remember that you are choosing the BEST answer.
Don't keep changing your answer. Usually your first choice is the right one, unless you have not read the question correctly.
If two answers seem correct, read the question again and choose the BEST answer.
Take your time. The AIMS test are not time limited. You may take as much time as you need.
Frequently check your answer sheet with the test question number. Make sure you bubble in the answer on the right line.
